Carl Kesselman
Co-founder & Chief Scientist
Dr. Carl Kesselman is the director of the Center for Grid Technologies at the Information Sciences Institute and a Research Associate Professor of Computer Science, at the University of Southern California. He is also one of four Fellows at the Information Sciences Institute, the research organization that created critical Internet standards such as the domain name service, TCP/IP, and the Simple Mail Transfer Protocol (SMTP).
A longtime collaborator with Dr. Ian Foster, Kesselman has contributed to virtually all aspects of Grid architecture, infrastructure, and applications. With Foster, he co-edited the highly influential book The Grid 2: Blueprint for a New Computing Infrastructure (Morgan Kaufmann, 2003).
