Software Engineer – Clustering and Cloud Technology

Position Description

You should be excited about delivering products using an Agile/SCRUM methodology and state-of-the-art clustering, open source, and cloud technology including, but not limited to numerous open source components, Java, Linux, relational databases, system provisioning tools and much more.

Desired Skills and Experience

Bachelor degree or better in Computer Science or Engineering
Minimum 3 to 5 years of experience in software development. Individuals with more years of experience strongly encouraged to apply.
Demonstrated experience delivering quality products on time according to plan
Development experience with Python, C/C++, Java and web services and protocols such as PHP, JSP, XML, HTTP, etc.
Shell scripting experience using Perl, Bash/Bourne shell.
Database experience, MySQL and Postgres in particular
Multiple UNIX operating system experience including Linux (Oracle Enterprise Linux, CentOS, RedHat, SuSE, Fedora, and others) both 32 and 64-bit, and Solaris. Other UNIX vendors a plus.
Intimate experience with open source software including the integration of open source software into new software development projects.
Networking and network security
Software configuration management tools such as Subversion

Skills That Would Be a Big Plus

Experience with Sun Grid Engine or with competitive schedulers such as LSF and PBS
Experience with high performance computing
Experience with grid computing
Experience with cloud computing
Knowledge of and experience with Globus, Ganglia, Rocks and other open source grid and clustering software"
