What is a "grid"?
Univa defines a "grid' as a computing environment in which multiple domains (with distinct scheduling, security, file system and/or data environments) can interoperate. A cluster alone is not a grid, nor is a group of desktop machines whose cycles are harvested for additional HPC power.
