Building a Private Cloud

Get started with cloud computing today – and bring better services to your end customers.

Univa’s Private Cloud solution for service providers enables you to utilize cloud in an incremental, easy and low-cost manner. By implementing a Univa Private Cloud, service providers enjoy the benefits of cloud technology while maintaining control of your own resources.

This solution delivers the following benefits:

  • Better utilization of existing resources
  • Reduced cost of service delivery
    • Eliminate over-provisioning or buying for peak periods
    • Lower ratio of capital expenses (CAPEX) to IT operating expenses (OPEX) for greater financial agility
    • Reduced OPEX (administrative and support overhead)
  • Reduced risk with a drop-in architecture that leverages existing systems
  • Support for heterogeneous environments

Solution Description

A Univa Private Cloud enables service providers to create a shared computing environment of pooled resources within the data center. This solution is at the crossroads of policy-managed provisioning, resource management, and job placement. Our application-centric approach provides contention resolution through dynamic application capacity allocation, automating provisioning decisions so the right applications are prioritized to receive scarce resources. With a Private Cloud, service providers can be sure to meet peak demand via a secure capacity-on-demand solution, rather than having to purchase hardware for peak periods.

The Private Cloud infrastructure products pool physical and virtual data center resources to create shared capacity for optimized resource provisioning and allocation. The solution consists of IT infrastructure that is confined to the enterprise and is constrained from the outside world via a firewall. It is built to offer a Service Oriented Infrastructure (SOI) to provide corporate departments, line-of-businesses, divisions and applications capacity-on-demand on a firewall-constrained private network. Only the corporate users within the corporate firewall can subscribe to services such as compute-horsepower and data storage on this enterprise-wide private network.

Private clouds allow for heterogeneous workload support as well as graceful management of global computing resources via an intuitive web-based portal.
